Though I reckon one of the Denali girls could give him a run for his money.
I need to get me some fanfiction right now.

Typical. All this talk of all the things happening before Sherlock S3. I think saying something like “pigs will fly before the next ASOIAF novel” is much more realistic.
Cry and cry and cry over something you shouldn’t, that was a catalyst for the misery, but while you are honestly bewildered as to why you’re crying you can’t stop the tears or the sobs when you’re alone.
I hate it so much.
I blame the people I work with. They know just how to make your day go from good to the worst day of your life - again.
And the stupid customers that speak English, and born in an English-speaking country, but only know how to talk, and not fucking listen to you after you ask your question then repeat the answer to them and still go through until you’ve finished with them to tell you that you got it wrong. Twice. In a row. On Eftpos. Both times. During a very busy period.
Then the fucking assistant boss coming in with all her stupid, arrogant shit and talking to you like you’re an idiot, not listening to a word you’re fucking saying. Again. Gods, I hate that bitch most of the time.
Fuck this shit, I’m sorry. Ranting, and I apologise to any followers who drag themselves through this. But this is a rant I can’t have on Facebook, because people I also worked with today are on there.
FUCK YOU, YOU CUNTS!
And I apologise for using that word. Only on the rarest of occasions do I drop that word. Like right now. Fuck, you’ve no idea how much I needed to. And swear, how often do I do that? Almost never.
And now I’m prattling on with excuses.
I apologise again
Not going to apologise again, that’ll annoy you even more than you probably are now.
Hope your work (if you work) is a much healthier environment than mine.
Take care. I’m going to listen to motivational music and imagine telling them off so badly they cry and need a good fucking slug to the nose or jaw. Too bad I don’t have any knuckle-dusters. And yet, eBay is full of everything.

For that friend of mine who gets the joke ;)
Just finished reading “Queen of Kings” by Maria Dahvana Headley and - wow. I loved it. I have a love of darkness within a novel and she delivered splendidly. I do adore a tragic story, and she delivered again. Allowing your entire story to be bittersweet and not a superficial “happily ever after” is my kind of tale, and Headley did that and more.
I really, really loved this book and anyone who has a hankering for danger, murder, gods, immortality, the supernatural, intrigue, madness, monsters, a strong, vengeful woman, history and above all, love and revenge;
This story is for you.
You’ll never look at Mark Antony, Octavian “Augustus” Caesar or Queen Cleopatra the same way again.
A thrilling and powerful work of the imagination and I take my hat off to Headley. It’s something I would have loved to write and more. And the most amazing part or whole, rather, was how thoroughly researched this novel was. As a history geek, I loved her style and interpretation of ancient sources into this spellbinding - literally, too - read.
Despite its intrigue and darkness, however, it is an easy read. So, if you find yourself lacking some form of reading material over a week or so, give this a try. An easy read (and by easy I mean there’s no Sherlock Holmes-esque mysteries to solve or Rowling-like super plots; it’s intrigue and darkness and addiction, but still mostly straightforward), but a damn good one.
I also want to make special mention and appreciation to the roles her characters play - all of them. She makes antagonists out of gods and witches and queens, and protagonists out of them too, and the moral question of the entire plot … gives me shivers; I love moral dilemmas and she did so well. The children (oh, the children) receive their part to play, and not as snotty-nosed and half-forgotten brats, either. These children - I have to give them my respect. My heart also broke with Cleopatra several times, to the point I’d have to stop reading to collect myself before moving on. I hated with her, too, but at the same time, Headley wrote her Romans with heart and soul and war.
The book is mostly from Cleopatra’s perspective and she desperately wants revenge on Augustus and Rome itself, but I couldn’t help but love Augustus, and Agrippa, as well. And her additional characters, those who weren’t actual figures in history, were some of my favourites. But her magical, supernatural and barbaric elements; her hate and love and lust; the darkness and little things that she wrote and made important; the harsh, cold, cruel nature and reality of events passed were all delivered with a flair and page-turning excitement that will definitely have me going back to read this book again. I am still with my post-book glow, but this book definitely has me as a fan.
Queen of Kings
There’s more than one path to immortality…
Maria Dahvana Headley
Suggestion: Darkness, desire, deceit and decadence; definitely worth a read.
Sorry, I found it on a random site and thought it was cute. Credit is all yours :)
